In British Columbia and other provinces, a criminal record check via fingerprinting is often required when applying for a legal name change. At Columbus Fingerprinting Company, we provide RCMP-accredited digital fingerprinting to support your application.

Who Needs This?

Anyone applying for a legal name change through Vital Statistics BC or another provincial authority. This includes:

• Adults requesting a personal name change
  
  

• Parents or guardians applying on behalf of a minor
  
  

• Individuals resuming a previous surname (e.g., post-divorce)
  
  

How It Works

1. Begin your name change application through Vital Statistics or your provincial agency
   
   

2. Bring your 2 valid IDs (one must be photo ID)
   
   

3. We capture your fingerprints digitally and submit them to the RCMP
   
   

4. The RCMP sends results directly to the government agency handling your name change
